Skindred - Warning

Skindred is a Welsh rock band from Newport. The band was formed in 1998 following the disbandment of vocalist Benji Webbe's previous band, Dub War. Skindred's musical style mixes alternative rock, heavy metal, punk rock and reggae. The band also integrate elements of dancehall, hardcore, ska, hip hop, drum and bass, dubstep and various other influences into their music. The group refers to this style as "ragga metal”.

Todays tune ”Warning” is the 1st single from the fourth brand new album "Union Black” It was released on April 25, 2011. The album is notable for featuring more usage of dubstep, hip hop and drum and bass elements than previous works. The album was produced by James Loughrey at Britannia Row Studios.

Benji Webbe stated in an interview with Kerrang! that he wanted to get some collaborations on the new album and had originally hoped to get Corey Taylor of Slipknot to sing on the album, but due to other commitments this wasn't possible. He went on to say that after sending an incomplete version of the song Warning to friend Jacoby Shaddix (of Papa Roach), Shaddix flew into the studio to record some extra vocals for the track "Warning". The album was promoted with a UK tour, with support acts Chiodos and Me Vs Hero.

The album's art is contributed by graphic artist Tim Fox.
