Kari Bremnes - Sangen Om Fyret Ved Tornehamn
I was doing spotlight on this lady yesterday at Stockholm Kultur Festival.
Rikard Wolff invited her on his gig at the Gustav Adolfs Torg yesterday, they also did a album together in 2001.
She is a very experimental, soft with lotsa feeling lady. It was a pleasure to listen to her, the songs all had a meaning and a depth that I seldom heard.
She was born in Norway in 1956, She got an M.A. in language, literature , history and theater studies from the University of Oslo, and worked as a journalist for several years before deciding to dedicate herself to music full time.
In 1987 she received the Spellemannprisen for the record Mitt ville hjerte, and in 1991 for the record Spor. With her two brothers, Lars and Ola, she received the prize for the record Soløye in 2001.
She is also deputy board chairman of the Norwegian Society of Composers and Lyricists.
She have done 13 solo albums and around 10 with other artists.
Ladys and Gents here u have Kari Bremnes.
This is her homesite!
Peace, Thetania
