Lay my head down, turn out the light
As I pray it all will be all right
Silently I close my eyes
As I whisper to the world, "goodnight"
~ Phil Kennemore
History:
Y&T (originally known as Yesterday & Today) is an American hard rock/heavy metal band formed in 1974. They hail from Oakland, California. The band released two studio albums on London Records as Yesterday & Today in the 1970s, before shortening their name to Y&T and releasing several albums on A&M Records beginning in 1981, as well as albums on Geffen Records, Avex Records, and others. The band was originally co-managed by Herbie Herbert (who also managed Journey) and Louis "Lou" Bramy. The band has sold over 4 million albums worldwide to date.
We remember Phil Kennemore with this song:
Todays tune Rescue Me is taken from the third studio album Earthshaker, released in 1981. The clip is Live At San Francisco Civic Auditorium 1985!
Here is a clip from juni 2009
That people are dying are in fact quite normal, although those who get celebrated, is only the people who have accomplished something, just as we do in this case. We celebrates musician, which I think is important that you do, it's actually them that we listen to, and we buy their music and see their concerts.
We should not forget two other heros who recently passed away
Mick Karn, the bass player who helped define Japan's sound, succumbed to cancer on Tuesday at his home in London. He was 52.
Don Van Vliet, aka Captain Beefheart, has died in California following complications from multiple sclerosis. He was 69.
