Steel Dragon - We All Die Young

Do you remember the super singer who dubbed Mark Wahlberg's singing in the movie "Rock Star" (2001)? That's right - Miljenko Matijevic, Croatian-American and front man of Steelheart of Connecticut. These became to known as one of the early 90th century's finest bands in the late 80s glamrock scene (Pudelrock). The first two albums "Steelheart" (1990) and "Tangled in Reins" (1992) full of classics like "Angel Eyes", "Steelheart" and the killerballad "She's Gone". Steelheart disbanded in 1992 after Miljenko seriously injured on stage by a falling light rig. A tentative comeback attempt in 1996 was short lived, but ten years later, Miljenko refuled Steelheart seriously and released in 2008 the Led Zeppelin-scented "Good 2B Alive". Now the band, for the first time comes to Sweden, they will perform at The Sweden Rock Festival this summer.

Steel Dragon is the name of a fictitious heavy metal band featuring real musicians, created to appear in the Warner Bros. film Rock Star (2001), inclusively being responsible for the movie's original soundtrack. The members, especially the lead singers, had an over the top look and attitude similar to those seen in some famous heavy metal bands of the '80s. Steel Dragon's music was extracted directly from a band named Steelheart. The lead singer of Steelheart (Michael Matijevic) provided a few of the vocals for Mark Wahlberg in the film.

So todays tune will be ”We All Die Young” in two versions, first the cover with Mark Whalberg and his movie band Steel Dragon, then off for a kinda newly take with Steelheart and for last same tune as original. Enjoy!

The band's formation on-screen included the talents of four musicians and had actors playing the role of the lead singers, who actually were dubbed by vocalists Jeff Scott Soto (Talisman, Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force, Journey) and Michael Matijevic during their performances, except for Myles Kennedy, who did the actual singing himself during his brief scene during the movie.

Additional musicians helped compose and perform the songs:
Zakk Wylde (Black Label Society, Ozzy Osbourne) - Guitarist "Ghode"
Jeff Pilson (Dio, Foreigner, Dokken) - Bassist "Jörgen"
Jason Bonham (Bonham, Foreigner, The Who) - Drummer "A.C."
Jason Flemyng (Actor) - Lead singer "Bobby Beers"
Jeff Scott Soto (Talisman, Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force, Journey, Axel Rudi Pell) - Lead vocals for "Bobby Beers"
