PJ Harvey- The Words That Maketh Murder

Polly Jean Harvey (born 9 October 1969) is an English musician and singer-songwriter. She was raised in Corscombe, Dorset and Yeovil, Somerset. Both the blues and Captain Beefheart is a major influences on Harvey’s own musical style.

Her latest effort "Let England Shake" is the eighth studio album by PJ Harvey. It was released on 14 February 2011. Work on it began around the time of White Chalk's release in 2007, though it is a departure from the piano-driven introspection of that album. The album was written over a period of two-and-a-half years, and recorded in a five-week period at a church in Dorset in April and May 2010. The album's first single and todays tune "The Words That Maketh Murder", was released on 7" vinyl and download, backed with the b-side "The Guns Called Me Back Again”.

I've seen and done things I want to forget
I've seen soldiers fall like lumps of meat
Blown and shot out beyond belief
Arms and legs were in the trees

"The Words That Maketh Murder" is very entertaining and catchy, a bit radical but mischievous chorus reinforced by Harvey's own obstinate voice. Released: 7 February 2011
