Protest The Hero - Bloodmeat
Protest the Hero is a Canadian progressive/metalcore metal band from Whitby, Ontario. Originally named Happy Go Lucky, the band line-up has remained the same since their formation in 1999. The band changed their name to Protest the Hero shortly before releasing their debut EP, Search for the Truth, in 2002. In 2005, the band released their first full-length album, Kezia, on the indie label Underground Operations. Their second full-length album, Fortress was officially released by Underground Operations in Canada and by Vagrant Records worldwide on January 29, 2008. The band has finished recording for their third studio album, Scurrilous, which was released on March 22, 2011.
This is a very interesting act in my ears, it’s catchy, foot tapping and breathless. The singer Rody Walker’s is quite good, he moves from low to high in a great way, sometime a little to often. The guitar players Luke Hoskin and Tim Millar is doing a marvelous work on this album.
I think of Coheed and Cambria when i play the Protest The Hero album. Never less Fortress is defiantly worth of a purchase for anybody that likes good metalcore and progressive metal.
Members are:
Rody Walker - vocals
Luke Hoskin - guitar, piano
Tim Millar - guitar, vocals
Arif Mirabdolbaghi - bass, vocals
Moe Carlson - drums
Todays tune ”Bloodmeat” is picked from Fortress, which is the second studio album and was released on January 29, 2008 on Vagrant Records.
