Jex Thoth - Nothing Left To Die

From one moment to the next, and I stepped out of the car in the north, 110 miles of driving in 11 hours, by no means as bad time wise but a hard work to complete, but it was worth it.

Yesterday played Dan Reed at Gröna Lund and the plan was to make a visit there and take some photos During his show, but with the tight schedule so it was to pack the bags, fill up the car and just like that were we of E4'n north.

Had also highlighted in the calendar to make a visit to the Lilla Hotellbaren to see Jex Thoth playing live tonight, but that did not happen this time.

But there was a sauna instead, a cold beer and a planned football tonight if one had managed to get the antenna to function so i could get up the channel, but It was impossible so I gave up. It was probably just as well considering how it ended.

So todays tune is ”Nothing Left To Die” with Jex Thoth as they will turn the place upside down tonight.

Gogol Bordello - Start Wearing Purple

Balkan punk band Gogol Bordello from the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The band formed in New York in 1999 and quickly made a name in underground circles by their unpredictable live shows and has since been hailed as one of the world's most visionary punk band. Recent tireless touring and the band's seemingly inexhaustible energy has led to several sold out concerts in Sweden. Much of the band's sound is inspired by Gypsy music. The band incorporates minor-key accordion and violin (and on some albums, saxophone) mixed with punk and dub.

Yesterday did Gogol Bordello a show at Gröna Lund here in Stockholm, unfortunately I could not attending this time and this really is a band that you should experience live.

Tonight, they step up on stage in Gothenburg and the West Coast Riot at 22:50. Will likely deliver the season's most action-packed event!

Thetania are currently in Gothenburg on the West Coast Riot and Metaltown. She certainly gives a report after the weekend about how the festival was.

Todays tune "Start Wearing Purple" is a song from their third album Gypsy Punks: Underdog World Strike. It was written by frontman Eugene Hütz. The song was packaged as a double single along with "Sally", and released as the band's second single in February 2006. It also appears in the soundtrack for the 2005 film Everything Is Illuminated, in which Hütz stars as Alex.

Hütz said in an interview, "It's one of the very few songs I wrote for a girl. I just moved in with my girlfriend in New York. We had a neighbour: an old woman who was always dressed in purple head to toe. She was clearly bonkers. So whenever my girlfriend and I had an argument and she would start screaming at me, I would say: you might as well start wearing purple now”. In another interview, he stated that the song was written around 1995.

Bryan Adams - Summer Of '69

Bryan Adams was entertaining a bunch of people on thursday at Gröna Lund, our amusementpark in Stockholm. It was lotsa sun and the gig was good.

He sang all his known tunes and the audience was singing as well.
Adams took a young girl up stage and sang with him that was cool.
Here is a pic of them both singing, taken by Stones working pal, Jan Lund.

I was quite exited :) I love this tune...even if i was to young 1969 there are other summers that were incredible! Im sure u all have a summer moment that is like this tune. But when i went over with the ferrie to Gröna Lund I heard him sing it...shit
So I missed it but ah well he sang others that were good as well.
But one thing that was weird was that he had 2 or 3 songs left when he left the stage.

Here is some pics I took,
We had to use a skylift to take up some of the lights.

They realized they had to get up a truss in the back to have the backdrop on, so the guys climbed.

Mr Bryan Adams.

He was born in Canada 51 and a half years ago, Adams breakthrough was when his album "Cuts Like A Knife" came 1983 to become beaten up by 1984 album "Reckless" with songs like todays tune and "Run to You", "Heaven", "One Night Love Affair", "Somebody", and "It's Only Love", a duet with Tina Turner.
