November - Sekunder (förvandlas till år)

During the show of Abramis Brama at Debaser Slussen last Saturday, did they invited up one guest on the stage, it was none other than Björn "Binge" Inge, who according to Abramis Brama´s statement, that he was the one who were behind the band, inspired them, pushing them forward to continue recording new materials and keep the flag flying. This was a very pleasant surprise . Ran in to "Binge" after the show, who told me about his new band "Mårran" that soon will be releaseing their debut album. This will be very interesting to listen to. So today we serve you guys a tune from a classic "Binge" band.

November is a Swedish rock band formed in Stockholm, Sweden in 1969 by Christer Stålbrandt,
Richard Rolf and Björn Inge. Their music was partly inspired by American acid rock, but heavy and blues based like a mixture of Cream, Mountain and Led Zeppelin. November started in 1968 at Tegelhögen, a youth club in Vällingby (a Stockholm suburb). At this club Christer Stålbrandt and Björn Inge played together with two friends as The Imps. After a few months Stålbrandt left the group to form a new group called Train. Björn Inge joined shortly after. Train also included Snowy White on guitar. In the early autumn of 1969 Snowy decided to return to his native homeland, England, and Richard Rolf joined as their new guitarist.

On November 1st, 1969 they supported Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac at the Que-Club in Gothenburg, and therefore they decided to call themselves November.

November was one of the first Swedish rock bands with Swedish lyrics. Most of the lyrics were written by Stålbrandt, influenced by the 60's flower power movement. Despite the Swedish lyrics, November was quite popular in England. While touring in England the lyrics was often translated to English, the crowd, however, insisted on the band performing with Swedish lyrics.

November recorded three albums which all reached high places on the Swedish charts. After their last concert at club Domino on New Year's Eve 1972 the band split up and had up until 2007, only performed once, namely during the release party for the CD November-Live 1993 (recorded on tour in 1971) on 30 Nov 1993.

Christer Stålbrandt moved on starting the group Saga, Björn Inge joined jazz rockers Energy, and Richard Rolf was one of the forming members of Bash and later on joined Nature.

Here is some pictures of "Binge" in action at Debaser Slussen, with Abramis Brama.

Today's tune "Sekunder" is taken from November's first album, "En ny tid är här..." ("A new era is here)". The album was released in summer 1970 at the record company Sonet and became a sales success, with 8 weeks on "Kvällstoppen". The song "Mount Everest" was released as a single and was two weeks on the Top Ten list. To sing hard rock in Swedish, it was basically just Pugh Rogefeldt that done that before November.

Abramis Brama- Kylan Kommer Inifrån

Continues at this Püssy a Go Go night.

We mentioned earlier that Püssy a Go Go arranges magic music nights.
Their Motto is "Will make you cream in your jeans"
The club with the vinyl crates full of 77'punk, 60's garage, psychedelia, prog rock, the most lethal heavy metal and other generated between 40-70s. With live bands, release parties, obscure drop by´s & the best people behind the music machines take the club around wherever it feels to be. This autumn it is found mainly at Nalen, Debaser, The small hotel bar & cafe Louie Louie in Stockholm Sweden.
It was so funny, cos one of them said Oh thats so cool that u gonna come and I didnt recognized her name first, then I realized she was my oldest friend doughter.

Anyway we had a ball on this concert/club, mayby to many beers :D
The band we came their for was Abramis Brama, a band that comes from up north in Sweden. I encountered them some years ago and fell in love! The sound is Black Sabbath but not...haha Its very 70´s like but new anwyay. Hard to describe. The band lost a guitar guy but still they sound very good. They said on their homesite:
"Robert, after six and a half years decided to leave Abramis. We think of course that it is really sad. We have not yet been decided whether or not to replace Robert (with another guitarist)."

They sing in Swedish , I cought the singer afterwards and got a hug and a picture :)
Here are the pics that were taken.

You will find their homesite here!

I do have 2 Videos for you today.
The tune comes from the latest album that they gave out 2009

Dudes and Dudettes, Here is Abramis Brama!

Peace, Thetania

A bit tired and rooughed up after yesterdays dancing and rocking on Debaser, Slussen. Stones and I was there and heard 3 exceptional good band, this u will see at TOTD later on this week, Abramis Brama, The Graviators and Asteroid.

On the 9th of December Deep Purple comes and visit Sweden and Stockholm.
As we have Sunday as nostalgic evening, I choosed this tune.

With heavy tunes that includes classics like "Highway Star", "Smoke On The Water," "Speed King", "Hush" and numerous other hits, its easy to see why Deep Purple is such a great band as they are. But they havent been it if they didnt do the hard touring, as they do, perhaps not existed on the same basis. With a score of success-like world tours under his belt, they have created a live sound that is a rare luxury, and their audience has grown bigger and bigger. This time the audience gets the chance to see the band perform their tunes accompanied by an orchestra.

For almost six years ago, the celebrated album "Rapture of the Deep" which was a return to their heavier rock sound from the seventies. Guitarist Steve Morse revealed earlier this year that Deep Purple had begun recording their nineteenth album, a statement which was greeted by cheers from the fans.

Deep Purple has in every way become an institution of the British rock and their albums have sold in both gold and multi-platinum.

This year, again we have Deep Purple on stages around the world to satisfy demand from their voluminous bunch of fans. And they do it in a very special way, this time with a symphony orchestra.
