Soilwork - Deliverance Is Mine

The Swedish metal sextet Soilwork formed in late 1995 by Björn Strid and Peter Wichers, originally under the name Inferior Breed, the band changed their name in late 1996 to Soilwork (meaning "working from the ground up"). Fusing the country's signature ultra-heavy death metal sound with the power-groove riffs of late-'70s, early-'80s British and European metal. Vocalist Bjorn "Speed" Strid, guitarists Peter Wiches and Ola Frenning, and drummer Henry Ranta were all veterans of the Swedish scene by the time they recorded their first demo, In Dreams We Fall into the Eternal, in 1997; bassist Ola Flink became a permanent member afterward, as did keyboardist Carlos Del Olmo Holmberg.

It was evident that Soilwork was the band everyone was waiting for. Completion of the other bands had done an excellent job, this was Soilwork evening which they really brilliant finish with the flag flying in the sky. Tight, musically and with incredible fury plowed the screening of their hits in a successful live show. To see the acts of this genre live is really quite amazing, that's when the music blossoms into its full and really takes hold of one. Read Martin Bensch's review from the gig a few days ago at KB on WeRock, read it here!

All That Remains - Hold On

All That Remains is an American metalcore band from Springfield, Massachusetts, which formed in 1998. They have released five studio albums, a live CD/DVD, and have sold over 500,000 records in the United States alone. The group consists of guitarists Oli Herbert and Mike Martin, vocalist Philip Labonte, bassist Jeanne Sagan and drummer Jason Costa with Labonte and Herbert being the only two original members.

All That Remains is the band number two out of three that we present from Sunday's gig at the klubben. Today, it will be a double post from me, I do this just to have enough time to present all before the pile gets too big. The second post will be tonight around the time that Helloween get up on stage at the same place that Avanstasia played last sunday, a gig which had been really fun to see and hear, but tonight I find myself in a completely different job which will come here in a few days, we've got trashfest to present first.

Back to All That Remains, a band that can really get a crowd rocking with their riff-based melodic metalcore, really hard not to dig in when they play live. When there are five bands that will share the backstage usually get a bit messy but the staff at the klubben had actually made it as nice as possible, including a place to relax with Wi-Fi so band members could make contact with their loved dear. A band that traveled a bit on the flank did not have a sleeping place for the night, think they were left there during the night, I hope it all worked out. Thought it was very clean, not so much mischief as it tends to be when bands of this type are on the road. Sure, stories about where this and that was told. But in the end it was very relaxed.

Todays tune "Hold On" is the first single, taken from "For We Are Many" and was released on August 18, 2010. This is the first album since This Darkened Heart and Behind Silence and Solitude to feature melodic death metal elements.

Engel - Six Feet Deep

This year's darkest months beginning on WeRock with lots of reading candy! Reviews of including the albums of Conspiracy Theory, Engel, Crystal Caravan, Stonewall Noise Orchestra, Samael and Hail Of Bullets among others. From my own pen, I write about Alter Bridge, Monster Magnet and Ross The Boss.

In addition, the two pure fresh live reviews were WeRocks writer BiblioteKarin reviewing Deftones gig in Stockholm and in a double review communicates Martin and Fredrik their impressions from two of nature quite different concerts with Job For A Cowboy in Malmö and Gothenburg.

BiblioteKarin like Engel's new album and says in a short "This is a fun album" read about it here.

Engel is a melodic death metal band with alternative influences from Gothenburg, Sweden. The band has shared the stage with such acts as Still Remains and toured Europe with Amon Amarth and Dimmu Borgir. They were also part of Paradise Lost's "Faith Divides Us - Death Unites Us" -tour, along with such names as Katatonia and Samael.

Former bassplayer Michael Håkansson left the band on 14 August 2008 to pursue his other dreams in life. His duty as bassplayer was taken over during November 2008 by Steve Drennan, who has played as a tour-bassist for Amon Amarth. During 2010, the band replaced their drummer, Daniel “Mojjo” Moilanen with Jimmy Olausson, who also plays drums for Marionette. The members of the band are also known for their other bands in the past, such as In Flames, The Crown, The Haunted and Gardenian. Niclas Engelin has worked with In Flames in later days as well, as a tour guitarist.

Magnus "Mangan" Klavborn - Vocals
Niclas Engelin - Guitar
Marcus Sunesson - Guitar
Steve Drennan - Bass guitar
Jimmy Olausson - Drums

Todays tune "Six Feet Deep" is taken from the latest and second album called "Threnody". The band's split with label SPV GmbH which delayed the European Release of this album.
