For you that dont know what im writing here:
Tony is to undergo treatment for cancer after being diagnosed with lymphoma.
A statement released on behalf of the band said: "Iommi is currently working with his doctors to establish the best treatment plan - the Iron Man of rock & roll remains upbeat and determined to make a full and successful recovery."

This man have ment a lot for me so Im sending him a lot of pure power!



Ive choosen a tune from Tony´s solo album, called "Iommi" from 2000, the album took nearly 5 years to make. All of the songs were written by Iommi, producer Bob Marlette and the respective vocalists of each track (except "Black Oblivion", which was written by only Iommi and Billy Corgan).

According to Tony Iommi, he and Phil Anselmo had recorded three tracks together for the album, but only one was put onto the album.

Black Sabbath - Children Of The Grave

Sunday and Classic time!
I choosen the group that hooked me on Hard/Heavy Rock/Metal.

"Children of the Grave" is a tune by Black Sabbath from their 1971 album Master of Reality.



For the recording of this album, guitarist Tony Iommi, who had injured his fingers in a factory accident years earlier, decided to downtune his guitar down three semi-tones (or one and a half steps to C-sharp). This reduced string tension, thus making the guitar easier for him to play. Geezer Butler also downtuned his bass guitar to match Iommi.

One Inch Giant - Fur of the Lord

 

Today we are looking a little bit outside the framework and listen to a record that was at the door the other day. One Inch Giant, a Stoner Rock band from Gothenburg who have just released their six-track EP "Malva". Already at the first glance one gets interested, the cruelly beautiful cover captures me immediately (Art lover as I am), a sketched work with children book influences made by Emma Ekstam. I think that the image represents the small community of "Malva"

The EP contains 6 very well written songs, were the music is heavy, doomish, powerful, strong stoner rock filled with good classic riffs signed by Gabriel Lugo Méndez. Filip Åstrand vocals are strong and powerful and fits well into this heavy mammoth fur. Also the rhythm section consisting of drummer Gabriel Ek and the bass player Axel Berglund keeps the line straight and rhythmic.

The first track "Ripe And Bold" kicks off the EP before the song begins in earnest, with distorted guitar riffs with light bluesy influences. "Fur Of The Lord" begins much quieter with fuzzed guitar loop and a little more softer in the tune.
"Train of Lies" has a bit more classic hard rock song sound with a adequate part of the emphasis accompanied by melodic hooks that murmurs throughout the song. "Feed The Fire" & "Echoes In The Night" are two really heavy track, where the last retrieves influences from Black Sabbath. The EP ends with the gruesome opening of "Treasures That Betrayer" before the song kicks off in earnest.

The record is mastered by the legendary Peter In De Betou (who previously worked with bands like Meshuggah, Bring Me The Horizon and many others).

The EP has a high class, it is rhythmic and melodic, the band shows a real talent for good song writing.

Iconic Tonic - Zombie Baby

This is quite a new band for me, so I thought I will share it with u guys as well.
On the 8th of November they will release a new album called "Rock ans Roll"
They play a kind of straight forward rock´n roll and I think they are originated from Ohio Us. They have some influences like: Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Motley Crue, Metallica, Cheap trick, AC/DC, UFO, Black Sabbath, Def Leppard, and many more.

Iconic Tonic, formed in 2010 by long -time friends Dave, Chad, and Tony. After each spent time in other projects that achieved both regional and national recognition, they decided it was time to fuel their creative energy towards an uncompromising and wickedly satisfying rock n’ roll band. Once together, the song ideas began to flow, and they immediately began rehearsing and recording.

Black Country Communion- The Outsider

The English/American Supergroup BCC is releasing a new album in june 2011, named "2".
This is produced as their first album "Black Country" by Kevin Shirley.
Kevin has also worked with Bonamasa on his solo albums.

I loved the first album, so its gonna be really cool to hear this one.
Its a mix between rock and blues with both Huges and Bonamassa on vocals.

Jason Bonham on drums, percussion
Derek Sherinian on keyboards



Huges has been a singer in both Deep Purple and Black Sabbath.
Bonamassa is a wonderchild in playing the guitar, BB King has raised him to the sky.
Bonham is son of the late John Bonham that playd drums in Led Zeppelin.
Sheridan was a member of Dream Theater and playd with Alice Cooper, Billy Idol, Yngwie Malmsteen, Kiss, and Alice In Chains.
