Mastodon - Black Tongue

Atlanta-based metal band Mastodon released new song "Black Tongue". The track is taken from the band's upcoming album "The Hunter".

The album is the band's fifth album in order, this one was recorded in the Doppler Studios in Atlanta with producer Mike Elizondo, who previously produced Avenged Sevenfold hit album "Nightmare" from 2010.

The band have been performed at the Sonisphere Festival in Knebworth, France, Sweden, Turkey, Finland, and Poland, as well as in Germany's Rock Am Ring/Rock Im Park Festival during this summer. The show in Sweden was magnificent and i already looking forward for the next visit.
A full show would be brilliant to see and hear.

On June 28, 2011, Mastodon released an unreleased track from Crack the Skye called "Deathbound". It was released through Adultswim.com and had a music video made for it.

In July, the band's Youtube account debuted a 1-minute sample of another new song, entitled "Black Tongue”, this you can watch here, check below.

The artwork is made by AJ Fosik, a wood carver who is also responsible for the backdrop the band uses live. This marks a departure from Paul Romano, who did all their artwork to date.

On , a song from the album, titled "Black Tongue" was released - via iTunes, Spotify and Ovi Music.

Here is a “taste of what’s to come” with this trailer for “Black Tongue” off their upcoming album The Hunter, which is set for release in the end of September. Animation by Aaron Hymes.

Watch AJ Fosik's process when is making the sculpture from the cover of Mastodon's upcoming album "The Hunter.” All this is with the music of ”Black Tongue” witch was released on July 25 and is also valid thru the Spotify link below and of course it will be included in Tune Of The Days Spotify playlist, Enjoy!

Slipknot - Psychosocial

Today I thought to mention some impressions from Sonisphere festival that took place this weekend. This is the third year this festival is held here in Sweden, this is also the third year that I've been working with it in one way or another. The first time it was in Hultsfred (South Of Sweden), second year on the ”Stora Skuggan (Big Shadow)" outside Stockholm, and this time it became a city festival almost in the center of Stockholm, when the area around the Globe was used for this eminent one-day festival.

Due, of much work at the beginning of the festival with various fix various I missed both SEVEN TRIBE and DEAD BY APRIL, no major loss i think, you could hear the tunes in the background. I did however got the chance to see a few songs with my Norwegian favorites KVELERTAK that cleared the net and brought back to life of the sun drowsy audience with their groovy mangle. A band that I prefer to see in a smaller environment such as the venue they had last time in Stockholm, Debaser Slussen. Unfortunately I missed the GRAVEYARDs gig, but ran into them in the hallways, nice guys indeed. MASTODON was to my satisfaction, and I managed to see around four songs before it was time to run away again. ARCH ENEMY did in my opinion an awesome gig, Angela Gossow is the woman with the power to get the usual deadly to fall like skittles. AIRBOURNE had a full blast from beginning to end and showed that they can rock like hell, fun to watch actually. IN FLAMES is always great to see live, but it was a shame that so few new songs were played, the new album is really high class. But as always, great to meet the guys behind the band, Biffen, Morgan Brown, Tobbe Berg, Fish and others. MUSTASCH I did not see, but i did hear them.

The festival's climax and headliner, SLIPKNOT have the honor of ending the stripped down Sonisphere this time, as they do in a brilliant way, enough crazy to stick around and enjoy the spectacle.

Paul Gray, who passed away a little over five years ago was hailed by his dress, it was hanging on the stage and his stand in was hiding behind it all. The show was pretty emotional, but crazy, just as one would expect from the guys.

Here is some pictures from my camera.

Here is some pictures from my friend and the great photographer Micke Sandströms camera.

Todays tune "Psychosocial” is the second single and fourth track from their fourth studio album, "All Hope Is Gone”. Percussionist Shawn Crahan told The Pulse of Radio what he could regarding "Psychosocial", saying, "One thing I can feel is like that song has got a lot of, I would say social anxiety. It's got a real good tempo. It's really fun and it's different. I think most of the stuff that we have is different.”

In Flames - Where The Dead Ships Dwell

My Moment at Sonisphere was In Flames!
I got goose bumps, I sang, I couldnt stand still, I laughed, I screamed (so noone saw it, haha)

Here I stand in the middle of seated people in red.

They were really good, the singer Anders is a great audience man. As he is from Gothenburg and we in Stockholm feel somehow threatened by that city and vice versa, there were some jokes were made about it :D He also told all that go and buy the new album and today in arrived in our mailbox :D LOOOOVE IT!!

Stones were out there and took some pics for me :D

This was In Flames first gig in Sweden after releasing the new album and it sounded darn good, much better than from the album, some band have so much "help" on the album so the live act sounds worse but this wasent the matter in this case. It helped me to LOVE some tunes that I didnt feel that much for b4.

What im trying to point out here is that IT WAS FUCKING GREAT GIG!!!!!!!

For you that dont know so much of In Flames Ill tell you some.

In Flames, along with Dark Tranquillity and At the Gates, pioneered what is now known as melodic death metal. The founding members of all three bands all lived in Gothenburg, Sweden and they were all friends who shared the same musical interests. Eventually, that group of friends branched off into three bands with the same musical direction, In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, and At the Gates all goodies.

Jesper Strömblad formed In Flames to write music that combined the melodic guitar style of Iron Maiden with the brutality of death metal, something which Jesper stated he had never heard any band do. In writing songs, Jesper also decided to make use of keyboards, something which was (at the time) uncommon in death metal. Ever since In Flames' debut studio album, Lunar Strain, the band has made use of keyboards, although other extreme metal bands such as Cradle of Filth had been using keyboards years before them. Despite their sometimes heavy use of keyboards in their music, they still refuse to recruit a full-time keyboardist.

Jesper has now left In Flames and a former guitarist Niclas Engelin came back instead, I do like Niclas although I love Jesper and what he done for In Flames I wish him a great future :D

Here is a pic on the backstage of Apollo stage.

Okey, Ladys and Gents, here´s, In Flames!

Love, Thetania

Arch Enemy - We Will Rise

Sonisphere came and went and when I read the comments from Sonisphere Facebook page I couldnt see any negative comment..Thats kinda cool :D
Stones worked his ass off all week there and now its time for some vacation.
I have a pretty tired and eaking man at home right now, after being on the roll since the 18 of June he is kinda tired, mildly said hehe. He took some pics on the festival that we will show to u.

DAAAMN, Wow I am frecking amazed over this Festival!!!
It was so much goodies, although I was kinda stucked at stage 1 (Apollo stage).
thats Arch Enemy was late made me happy cos they switched with Mastodon and played at Apollo stage. :D

She sings like a whole man :D the German girl, Angela Gossow, she is among a small number of females to front as a death metal singer. She has a mezzo-soprano vocal range, with a death growl. She is a vegetarian. Since 2008 she is a manager for Arch Enemy and Spiritual Beggars.

Arch Enemy did a very good gig, the whole audience rolled with the music.
It wasent like In Flames or Slipknot but it was damn goood :D

I had a very good spot to work at so I could look at the show now and then.

Here is the Apollo stage and arena b4 the show started.
