Blues-driven Swedish rock band Gordon Fights visit us with their debut single "Time Machine". This is a wonderful rock 'n roll frenzy, here has the brush been dipped into Lynyrd Skynyrd's paint bucket. Splashing their art with MC5 and Humble Pie, it's really good expressed and swings awesome, with a clear love for the 70 century, Southern rock. To get the true feeling in the rythms have they let their mustaches lie in a bath of U.S. imported beers.
Gordon Fights consist of:
Viktor Persson Rasmus Söderling Anders Carlsson Patrik Engström Tobias Alpadie
Their debut "Gordon Fights" has been just been reviewed in WeRock by Fredrik Sandberg actually got a good review score and in my eyes / ears, a perfect purchase. I hope of course, that this album will be released on Vinyl! On WeRock you will also find the month harvest of reviews, including albums with bands like "Chaos Divine", "Thalamus","Portrait", "Craft" and "Pain" and several.
On 24th September will the club "Pussy a Go Go" have its premiere at Debaser Slussen, it will be record release with Gordon Fights and of course live music. In addition, guests this evening of no less than Bombus and Spiders, ensure that you go there.
Todays tune "Time Machine" is the first single for what's to come. Their debut album will be released in late September.
Directed by Robin Haldert. Filmed & edited by Robin Haldert & Kalle Stillersson. Visual effects & art direction by Viktor Balkewitsch Persson.
A guy on the net tipped me about this band, so I thought ill give it some attention as it quite catchy music. I think they are gonna release a new album soon, called "Yesterday Revised"
On their MySpace site they say: "We’re putting the final touches on the Yesterday Revisited album and it’s been great fun working with producer M. Nörrenberg. Eleven tracks were recorded in several different studios and we met some interesting people on the way...
One of the studios; The Grease Pit is located in the nasty east harbor with a recording room placed in the loft over a car “repair shop.” During our time there the temperatures was climbing near 100 degrees. The owner of the car “repair shop” had a pit-bull guard dog poorly tied to a tractor that was parked at the entrance. He said the name of the dog was Sandra, named after his ex wife. I recorded all my guitars at The Grease Pit, night time that is, when Sandra and her master were elsewhere."
The band is: Mange Andersson - Vocals & Guitars Pelle Jernryd - Guitars & Lap Steels Magnus Nörrenberg - Hammond & Wurlitzer Micke Nilsson - Bass Olof Jernryd - Drums & percussion
A guy on the site "CD Univerce" says this about em: The foundation for Brickhouse was laid in Malmö around 1997 by Magnus Andersson, who apart from singing and playing guitar also writes the songs for the band. His deep fondness of blues and soul as well as good traditional rock 'n' roll has a strong impact on his own material. This intense singer is the firm keeper of Brickhouse whose other talents are a strong-minded bunch of musicians per excellence! Pelle Jernryd on guitar, Magnus Nörrenberg on organ, Micke Nilsson on bass and Pontus Snibb on drums are no strangers to the musical neighborhood where the Brickhouse stands. This powerful band is versatile enough to manage anything from explosive 70's rock to soft ballads with a hint of country. To add that extra touch to it all, Brickhouse is adorned by the two lovely chorus ladies Kajsa Eldh and Malin Ekstrand , whose beautiful voices pours out to join lead singers fiery approach, like melting honey on a hot piece of bread!
So, this is a band we should look up for in the future :)
If you are in Malmö in August look at them at: Aug 10 Malmö, SWEDEN St Gertrud 7:30 PM.
Ah well lets hear/see em. Enjoy!
Peace, Thetania

The band Black Stone Cherry originated from Tramore, co Waterford. Chris Robertson and John Fred Young, son of The Kentucky Headhunters's rhythm guitarist Dicky Young, started to play music together early in their teens and Wells and Lawhon soon followed. Black Stone Cherry officially formed on June 4, 2001.
They then took over the practice house that had been used by The Kentucky Headhunters since 1968 and began to record tracks. After the band finished recording, they returned to Edmonton for a homecoming gig in the gym of the local middle school, which was attended by 1500 people.
After the band’s self-titled debut album was released, Robertson's former school principal invited the band back to Edmonton to celebrate with a concert. As the band entered the town, the streets were filled with people holding "welcome home" signs.
This is Black Stone Cherry: Chris Robertson on lead vocals, rhythm guitar Ben Wells on lead guitar, backing vocals Jon Lawhon on bass guitar, backing vocals John Fred Young on drums, percussion, backing vocals
