Black Country Communion - The Battle For Hadrians Wall

I have now reached #3 and its closing in :D
Ive choosed one of my closest god´s in this area,

Black Country Communion or BCC, they released a album this year just called "2"

Ive choosed a tune that eint that rocky as the album in its whole is..its lyrics are written by Joe Bonamassa, and the music is by Hughes, Bonamassa, Shirley.

As I told u in the beginning of this top ten, I was totally astonished when I saw them earlier this year. The day after I worked at Europe´s concert and Joe B, Derek Sherinian and some of their tech´s came, and Joe came up stage and play´d a tune with John Norum that was awesome! and I got a hug and a chat with Derek, whom i really like since Dream Theater.

Ladys and Gents, This is BCC and Joe Bonamassa!

Love, Thetania

Kamchatka - Perfect

Kamchatka, who played at Klubben last weekend and opened up again for Clutch. Clutch and Kamchatka works well together and they like each other alot, it is clearly visible. Kamchatka has toured with Clutch on several occasions both in Scandinavia and Europe. Klubben on this occasion was entirely sold out, does this mean that it's time for a bigger venue for Clutch next time? It remains to be seen, if I understand it correctly, does Clutch like it smaller, more compact than the big fancy arenas. But more about Clutch tomorrow.

Kamchatka are a Swedish power trio highly influenced by late 1960s and early 1970s blues-rock bands. Their sound combines elements of blues-rock, stoner rock and psychedelic rock. Kamchatka took their name from the volcanically active Russian Kamchatka Peninsula that divides the Okhotsk and the Bering Sea In 2005 Kamchatka released their self titled debut Kamchatka, a 14 track album containing 3 covers: "I Love Everybody" originally written by blues-rocker Johnny Winter. The 2 other songs, "Auto Mowdown" and "Spacegirl Blues" were written by Gerald V. Casale of New Wave band Devo (from compilation Hardcore Devo: Volume One). The album was recorded at Shrimpmonkey studios by Nicolas Elgstrand. In 2007, Before Kamchatka's second album Volume II was released, guitarist Thomas Andersson collaborated on a project called King Hobo with Opeth keyboardist Per Wiberg and Clutch drummer Jean-Paul Gaster, amongst others. Kamchatka's third album Volume III was released in March 2009. An 11 track album containing a cover of The Allman Brothers' song Whipping Post featuring Clutch drummer Jean Paul Gaster. The fourth album Bury Your Roots, an album of 12 original tracks, was released on GMR September 5th 2011.

Kamchatka have been influenced by several genres including blues, progressive rock,
stoner rock and jazz and by artists such as Devo, Ali Farka Touré, Cactus, King Crimson, Kyuss, Sarah Vaughan and Chet Baker.

The band offered a lovely gathering of enjoyable music. This was a gig where I had the opportunity to photograph the event, which was really fun, with my new purchased lens I went around in the photo pit as a 5 year old on Christmas Eve. I'm not one hundred familiar with my new friend as you can see in the pictures but it yet became a reasonable result. Really hope that further opportunities are given in the future of photography, fun like hell, I must say. Back to the gig, the band is a trio that manage to really carve out the sounds from their instrumment in a smooth way and make it sound incredibly beautiful. They even get increase in end of the show by organ player Per Widberg, he gives a real lift in the songs. That the guys loves to be on stage is clearly visible. The band were super nice, and maked the day go very smoothly.

Here is some photos:

Todays tune "Perfect" is taken from Kamchatka's 4th album "Bury Your Roots". Todays video is filmed and edited by Lars Glendell.

The Black Keys - Lonely Boy

Now one begins to come alive after a hard week in the sign of music. Tons of sweet rythms have been flushed through the ear canal, musical madness and other fun stuff, All this we will go through, starting from tomorrow, when one is human again. :-)

Today we will take a little quiet and listen to some great music, found a really cool video that fits well into today.

Todays tune "Lonely Boy" is a song by the American blues-rock duo The Black Keys, and it is the first single from their upcoming album "El Camino". The song is also the A-side of a promotional 12-inch single, released in commemoration of Record Store Day's "Back to Black" Friday event.

"El Camino" is the seventh album by , The Black Keys. The release is set to December 6, 2011.

1994 EL CAMINO: 273,000 mi. 200 cubic-in. 3.3L 95hp V6 engine, 3-speed turbo autom shift, sapphire stylus, some ticks/pops, light surface noise. Working AM/FM radio, tan metalflake/woodie panels, some rust. Black vinyl seats. Priced to sell -- Grab the Keys and go! Contact Pat or Dan at (330) 510-1206

The promotional music video for "Lonely Boy" features actor/musician/part-time security guard Derrick T. Tuggle dancing to the song in the lobby of a motel. The video, shot in a single take, went viral and garnered more than 400,000 views on YouTube within 24 hours. According to Tuggle, who was cast as an extra, the video was originally supposed to have six or seven other people appear, along with the Black Keys who were set to hand the keys to their motel room to Tuggle. However, his improvised dancing on the set inspired a change to the video. He said, "The director just sort of noticed me dancing and asked me, 'Can you perform?' I said, 'I can dance, anybody can dance,' so I took some moves from everybody: John Travolta from Saturday Night Fever and Pulp Fiction, the Carlton Banks dance from The Fresh Prince and a little bit of Michael Jackson, so it was a smorgasbord of everybody in there." He added, "It was just a spur-of-the-moment thing. My acting teacher Mark McPherson, he has us do this thing before we start class called 'Song and Dance,' where he'll have us sing one of our favorite songs, and then while we're singing it, he'll have us do a crazy dance, or a sexy dance, and I guess it spawned from that."

Rival Sons - Pressure And Time

Rival's is blues rock, or rather it's raw smoky swamp blues that has everything in common with Led Zeppelin's soulful rocking. Column Meters can be utterly brutal how perfectly good their album "Pressure and Time" is but just because you can does not mean you should. However, we can only beat a very hard blow for their coming visit here in Sweden. Not a maybe, but a must!

Rival Sons guitarist Scott Holiday comments:

"After one month's return to the States, we could no longer take it, being away from our fans in Europe. So we are elated to be getting back out to them this November. Besides getting back to some of our favorite countries and cities, this tour will also give us the chance to introduce ourselves to a bunch of new places, like Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Finland, Estonia, Vienna and more! Hopefully everyone over there is ready for a full-on, rock 'n' roll, smack-in-the-face, kick-in-the-pants assault... Because that is what we aim to deliver.

"As for the fans we are returning to - we know they're ready; it's gonna be a blast. This'll be the last Rival Sons tour for 2011! Let's send the year out proper, and remind people that rock 'n' roll is far from dead!"

Brickhouse - Kick Steel

A guy on the net tipped me about this band, so I thought ill give it some attention as it quite catchy music. I think they are gonna release a new album soon, called "Yesterday Revised"

On their MySpace site they say:
"We’re putting the final touches on the Yesterday Revisited album and it’s been great fun working with producer M. Nörrenberg. Eleven tracks were recorded in several different studios and we met some interesting people on the way...

One of the studios; The Grease Pit is located in the nasty east harbor with a recording room placed in the loft over a car “repair shop.” During our time there the temperatures was climbing near 100 degrees. The owner of the car “repair shop” had a pit-bull guard dog poorly tied to a tractor that was parked at the entrance. He said the name of the dog was Sandra, named after his ex wife. I recorded all my guitars at The Grease Pit, night time that is, when Sandra and her master were elsewhere."

The band is:
Mange Andersson - Vocals & Guitars
Pelle Jernryd - Guitars & Lap Steels
Magnus Nörrenberg - Hammond & Wurlitzer
Micke Nilsson - Bass
Olof Jernryd - Drums & percussion

A guy on the site "CD Univerce" says this about em:
The foundation for Brickhouse was laid in Malmö around 1997 by Magnus Andersson, who apart from singing and playing guitar also writes the songs for the band. His deep fondness of blues and soul as well as good traditional rock 'n' roll has a strong impact on his own material. This intense singer is the firm keeper of Brickhouse whose other talents are a strong-minded bunch of musicians per excellence! Pelle Jernryd on guitar, Magnus Nörrenberg on organ, Micke Nilsson on bass and Pontus Snibb on drums are no strangers to the musical neighborhood where the Brickhouse stands. This powerful band is versatile enough to manage anything from explosive 70's rock to soft ballads with a hint of country. To add that extra touch to it all, Brickhouse is adorned by the two lovely chorus ladies Kajsa Eldh and Malin Ekstrand , whose beautiful voices pours out to join lead singers fiery approach, like melting honey on a hot piece of bread!

So, this is a band we should look up for in the future :)

If you are in Malmö in August look at them at:
Aug 10 Malmö, SWEDEN St Gertrud 7:30 PM.

Ah well lets hear/see em.
Enjoy!

Peace, Thetania
