Today I was at gallery that 2 of my dearest friends had, at Gallery Kocks. Tomas Johansson and Sofia Lundberg, Tomas is a marvelous painter and Sofia takes wonderful photos. Here they are :D
Tomas Johansson, painter and also the bas player in Lizette & (as we showed u a couple of days ago)
Sofia Lundberg, Photographer.
On this Gallery I met another exiting man, Hansi Cross. He is a musician, and producer of music, Ive come across him many times (we are even FB friends) over the years. We have many common friends, but never spoke for real, until today. He is a very nice and intresting person, full of caring and love.
He and his band plays Symphonic progressive rock, and they are really good!! And now on February 3rd they are releasing an album "Wake Up Call".
In November 2009, Hansi did an interview for Background Magazine and on the question: How do you see yourself: as a singer/guitarist, a keyboardist or a composer and producer?
He said:
“I see myself as a composer and a singing guitarist. I’m not a brilliant keyboardist, but I tend to find it more inspiring to compose our music on keyboards rather than guitar. This creates some interesting situations. For instance, if I compose a riff for guitar and bass on keyboards it sounds great and not too difficult, but by the time, we have to play it on guitar it sometimes turns out to be quite a challenge. What is easy to play on keyboards is not always easy on guitar.
I believe this way of working adds a Cross-approach to our music. Riffs and bass lines often have a sort of uniqueness, because they have been written on different instruments. I like most of the parts of that creative process, in different ways, but I think the composing part is the most important to me. Of course, I highly enjoy performing, playing guitar and singing as well. I wouldn’t want to focus entirely on composing.”
The guys behind this album is: Hansi Cross - guitars, keyboards, lead & harmony vox, percussion Lollo Andersson - basses, taurus Tomas Hjort - drums, percussion with: Jock Millgardh - lead and harmony vox Mats Bender - keyboards Hannah Sundkvist - electric violin Stefan Damicolas - harmony vox Sabina Cross - additional violin Lizette von Panajott - processed female vox
Our Favvo band is going to release an album in February and today they released their second single, called "Reduced" with a sorta anxious message. DAAAMN its goood :D
I called Lizette up as she is a friend of mine, to share some with ya all.
Lizette Von Panajott interview
TOTD: Heeeey Lizette, This was a quite dark kinda video, I havent listen to the lyrics yet but what is it all about? I mean u are the most positive, happy person I know.
Lizette: Its about how u begin to lie and then lie a bit more and soon ure shut in a corner feel totally shitty and then sooner or later it all fucks up, and the only thing u did was lie. And that was a bit stupid u know, just that one can consider to be more honest. I really put down a thought behind the lyrics I write, think its important.
Lizette: I want to have a dialogue with people, to get their viewpoint on the matter and mayby they can think more about life and its turns.
TOTD: So when is this album coming, we are eager here!
Lizette: Talks with the manager and says, on the 22 of February.
TOTD: Ure last album was a bit softer than this album, what Ive heard its more tough and heavier. So how is the rest of “Just Smile”?
Lizette: This is a very straight forward/In ure face kinda album and harder than “This is”. Although the tune “Just Smile” is a ballad , but overall its a much harder album. I have very much variaty on the albums, I like that. This album is so damn good, and Im just soo damn proud of it. Then she laugh.
TOTD: Who writes the tunes?
Lizette: I am, then I present it to the guys and then they play it and sometimes they have some inputs on it sometimes not, if I like it , it’s a go. If it interfer to much with my original thought, I ditch it (laughs)
TOTD: Did u write all the tunes on this album?
Lizette: All of em, except 2, “Have A Cigar” I wrote that with Dan Reed (from Dan Reed Project) and the cover “Head Like A Hole” Nine Inch Nails wrote that. I really like NIN.
TOTD: 2 (The guitarrist, “Ink” and guitar and keyboardist Markus) guys are new since “This Is” album, tell me about them.
Lizette: They stepped into these big shoes and are doing an awesome job. The thing is that we have so damn fun together!
TOTD: Okey Lizette, thank you for this! Anything u care to say to our readers?
Lizette: Yea, the "Reduced" single is on Itunes, buy it ! Looove you!!!! And then we ended off ☺
Lizette & - A brilliant Swedish rock band that combines the world of NIN and Alanis Morissette in a new exciting world. The band has just released their new single "Taxfree" and today they released the video to it, the single is taken from the upcoming 2:nd album.
Lizette produces and records everything herself in her studio based in the capital of Sweden, of course, with the help of her experienced band members.
Influences have varied and are many. She always makes sure she gives cred to Trent Reznor though - he was the one who, unknowing, showed her witch way to go with her music.
She is a lucky little lady who works with all kinds of interesting people, who takes her to places she has not even heard of and hardly find on the map, she meets people from all over the world - all in the name of her music.
On the upcoming album (releases early next year), in which there are tons of interesting influences, guest artists and more, but this is something we will return to when the new record is slipping through the mail slot and is lying there well wrapped on the hall floor :-)
Lizette & is: Lizette Von Panajott, Vocals and producer. Tomas, Bass Alex, Drums Ink, Guitar Marcus, Guitar, Vocals and Keyboard
If you live in Stockholm, take the opportunity to see them live tomorrow!

Tune Of The Day presents today's Tune "Taxfree" with the very entertaining video for the real cruel single! The video is a collaboration between "Lizette &" and their fans. If you look closely on the video you might find us (Thetania, Stones) there! Enjoy!
Lizette - creating her music at night time U almost feel the chill of the wind outside her window and sense the moonlight in the room as she composes and sings. Let her touch Ur inner core and accept the message she delivers forcefully with her art.

There was a Big Rock Summer Kickoff last sunday with many bands!
Stones and me missed some of em cos we were putting lights on Mr Jerry Seinfeld.
But we saw 3 of em :D And It was a great Rock Party, They ended off with the eminent Lizette & a really cool Industrial Rock band...LOVE UUUU, That we have done here at The Tune Of The Day a lot of times.
These bands playd: Ruh - They just made a showcase in Los Angeles and previously opened for The Who, July - Has re-unification and are back in business again, Spitchic - Crazy great, Roxie77 - Doesnt need any further description, Ryan is a real rockstar. Lizette & - Makes their first gig with material from the new album.
Im picking Ruh as todays Tune!
The Stockholm band Ruh plays temperamental and dynamic rock with imaginative melodies and honest lyrics.
During the summer of 2005 Fredrik Sundberg (vocals) and Jens Handell (guitar) made a journey to Cairo to get inspiration to write music. At that point, there was no band, but were working on some material together. One late night in a hotel bar some new acquaintances invited Fredrik and Jens onto the stage to perform. They took what they had (a half-finished song) and played. The audience was very touched, and in the alcohol-drenched hours that followed, they kept using the same phrase to describe the music. “Ruh.” Turns out it means soul. When the guys returned to Sweden, they came home with more than just new inspiration. They came home with a name.
The band was completed with Daniel (bass), Axel (piano) and Magnus (Drums), they all brought their personal touch to the sound. The repertoire grew quickly and Rug started playing live at local bars and clubs in Stockholm. The magic (or soul) that was sparked in the hotel bar in Cairo, seemed to come alive on the Swedish stages as well. With every show the fan base grew. And after being discovered by Kattis Blom, a booker at Livenation, Ruh started playing bigger venues all over the country.
The tour plan will be put together as requests come in. ”Find the Essence and Multipy” (Ruh Records) will also be available on I-tunes and Spotify.
Members: Fredrik Sundberg - Vox Jens Handell - Guitar Axel Bellinder - Keyboard Daniel Sellberg - Bass Magnus Frid - Drums
Their Exellente Manager is Blue Lemon Management – Power To The Artist!

Awesome guys all of em!!
Lizette started singing in a studio that was all into POP, let me clarify that - POP! The extremely cool people working in this studio thought that Enya made "really deep and weird music".
This is all fine, but Lizette's music always sounded MUCH "weirder" than Enya ever did. She thought that there would not be an audience for what she did - so why do it... except for the fact that it was so fulfilling and enjoyable. About 1 year later she got introduced to NIN, the album "Downward spiral". Hearing what he did on that album and the fact that he had an extremely large audience who really needed and loved his music - Lizette got to work for real and started to produce the album "This is". Learning more about all the technical aspects that are needed for a full blown album production as she went along.
So - here U have it - done with a lot of love - angry, beautiful and horrifying music made to create an impact. To reach the soul of her listeners and explore new worlds.
Lizette - creating her music at nighttime U almost feel the chill of the wind outside her window and sense the moonlight in the room as she composes and sings. Let her touch Ur inner core and accept the message she delivers forcefully with her art.
We have had many videos here on Lizette so now i just have one left. I wanted to have the tune "Crush U" but i couldnt find any embed thingie ah well. This tune is quite funny so I guess I show u :D

Cheers, Thetania

Dan Reed visited Stockholm yesterday, and did a marvelous gig according to my friends Lizette And was the support band, now thats a great industrial rock band, love it!
If you missed who he is, i found this on his homesite
Dan Reed Dan Reed was born in Portland, Oregon, but in early childhood moved to South Dakota after his mother remarried the owner of a cattle ranch. Growing up on 2000 acre's of land as an only child gave Dan plenty of time to daydream and it was here, riding tractor in the summer sun that Dan first fantasized about becoming a musician while listening to the Doobie Brothers, Kiss, Cheap Trick and Van Halen blaring on the tractor cabs' AM radio.
Although there were many incarnations of bands Dan performed with in South Dakota and in Portland it was in December of 1985 where he truly first began his musical journey as the lead singer of a band called “The Dan Reed Network”. Garnering huge local support the band signed to PolyGram Records in the summer of 1987. Home of Bon Jovi, Def Leppard and Tears For Fears. The Dan Reed Network released three very successful albums to much critical and commercial success between 1988 and 1992.
The band had the honor of 'seeing the world', opening for such bands as RUN DMC, UB40, David Bowie and Bon Jovi, eventually becoming the supporting act for the Rolling Stones’ 1991 European tour. It was at this time Dan journeyed to India with Bob Guccione Jr. to interview the Dalai Lama for Spin Magazine. It was during this trip that Dan began to hunger for more than the pop/rock music scene had to offer.
This was the catalyst for the long journey that Dan has taken, bringing him back in 2008 where he belongs, writing and performing new music with experiences wth the “rock star image” behind him. In the 1990’s he started an independent record company in his hometown of Portland, Oregon to help promote local Northwest bands, while at the same time studying acting.
