Calle & The Undervalleys - Back In The Fast Lane

We got a mail... That got me intrested.
I had my Tune Of Today but, I couldnt resist this tune :)

The band's singer Calle Kristiansson got his big breakthrough in Swedish Idol 2009 when he ended up a creditable 2nd place and went gold with his self-titled solo album.

Calle performed during Idol the tune "Walking in Memphis" which became a hit in Sweden. When the TV show was over, Calle got back with his old band Calle & The In Valleys and embarked on a nationwide tour, a tour that met with more or less sold out shows and rave reviews. In September 2010 the band recorded an album of mostly self-written songs in the legendary Varispeed Studios with Acke Bengtsson (Lundell, Thåström, Håkan Hellström, etc.) as producer and technician. The disc "Valley Rally" will be released on 17 June (Breitenfellner Records / Sony Music) and contains the single "Lonely mothers holy land."

The band consists of:
Calle Kristiansson
Josef Underdal
Adrian Underdal
Arvid ”Underdal” Nilsson
Joel Strömgren

For more info look @ Homesite.

Enjoy folks,

Cheers, Thetania

The Dolly Rocker Movement - The Only One

The other day I ran into a band with the right peculiar band name "The Dolly Rocker Movement", the band is based in Sydney, Australia. Formed in 2002 by singer and guitarist Daniel Poulter, the Australian line-up includes Poulter, Ricky Drabsch (bass), Martin Walters (keyboards) and Christopher Rudge (drums). "The Dolly Rocker Movement" is a rock band with a T-Rex inspired neo-psychedelic pop touch spiced with true influence of late 60's garage/psychedelia, freakbeat & west coast folk. Kinda cool, must i say. The group has released three full-length albums through independent Australian record label Off the Hip.

The group has played with such acts as The Black Keys, The Lime Spiders, The Stems and The Lovetones. The band has had material showcased outside of Australia on various releases, including Northern Star Records’ three Psychedelica compilations, and the Greek Peace Frog and Lost in Tyme zines. In 2009 Denmark-based label Bad Afro announced it would release their third album, Our Days Mind the Tyme, in all non-Australian territories. That's the album were we are going to pick todays tune from.

In late 2009, Poulter travelled to Los Angeles to start demo recording new solo and band material with producer Rob Campanella. There, the band was reformed to include Poulter, Jimmy Sweet (formerly bassist of Hot Hot Heat), Emily Stoia (keyboards), and T.J. McDonnell (drums).

As of 2012, the band has announced its intention to record new material in Australia.

And yes, you can find this beauty printed on Vinyl!

Todays tune "The Only One" is taken from "Our Days Mind the Tyme" Release in 2009.

Deportees - Islands and Shores

A week ago did Deportees visited Stockholm at Berns, a sold out house generated one more day at the Berns, which also became sold out, great fun for the band, I must say. Working at Berns feels sometimes a little luxury In some way. This was a fairly soft event with a bunch of musicians who was typically Swedish, you know, like that little reclusive and wary. But the band made a good impression on me, even that this kinda music not immediately turns me on.

Support act for this event was a kinda interesting constellation named "Winhill/Losehill" which was kinda cool, nice and well played live, check them out if you like indie music.

"Winhill/Losehill" also took the opportunity to record a video at the Berns, too their first single, listen to Spotify.

Deportees are a Swedish band from Vindeln and Umeå, formed in 2003, consisting of brothers Peder Stenberg (vocals) and Anders Stenberg (guitar), in addition to Thomas Hedlund (drummer) and Mattias Lidström (keyboard).

The debut single "Arrest Me 'til it Hurts", a peculiar song with influences of pop, funk, country music and Prince. The single generated considerable interest among the public and the critics, it was followed by the first full length CD All Prayed Up in 2004. The album was nominated for two Swedish Grammies, for "Best new artist" and "Best pop group".

The band toured Sweden, United States, the UK and Ireland. In 2006, for their second album Damaged Goods, they cooperated with producers Pelle Gunnerfeldt and Björn Yttling. Their third album Under the Pavement - The Beach in 2009 was produced by Måns Lundberg. They won the P3 Gold award for Best Pop in January 2010. Their 4th album released in October 2011 is titled Islands & Shore.

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - The Death Of You And Me

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds is the solo moniker of former Oasis lead guitarist Noel Gallagher. The band originates from Manchester and includes former Oasis session pianist Mike Rowe, drummer Jeremy Stacey of The Lemon Trees and percussionist Lenny Castro. The band also varies guests on their debut album such as the Crouch End Festival Chorus and The Wired Strings.

Via a tip from a friend who thought that I would listen to Noel's new album which I did, without the hint would probably this had fallen between two stools and disappeared in the noise. I thought that Oasis sounded ok, at least on the debut and album two, where after they became really boring.

Big Brother Gallagher goes its own way and must do things their own way: well-orchestrated Gallagher Rock after brit pop all the rules, relatively smooth underlined pop melodies with well-worn but very easy listening. However, there is something that is interesting, excat what I can not put your finger on.

The singles for Gallagher's debut album are "The Death of You and Me", "If I Had a Gun..." and "AKA... What a Life!". The latter made its debut on a Vauxhall television advertisement, and is only to be released as a UK single.

Gallagher announced that he will begin touring a week after the album is released. He stated, "We're going to go out on tour a week after the album is out. We're going to start off slow in small theatres. If it's good enough to get bigger than that then it'll get bigger than that. I don't think there'll be a huge great big tour this year. I think this year it'll be a quick whizz around the world and try and do the major cities and then it will probably be a bigger tour next year."

The video appears to be part of a three video story start with "If I Had a Gun" then "The Death of You and Me" and ending with "AKA... What a Life!" as all the videos end where the other one finished but the videos weren't released in chronological form as the singles came out in a different order.

Todays tune "The Death of You and Me" is was released as the lead single on 19 August 2011.

Gallagher's second album is a collaboration with Amorphous Androgynous, due in late 2012. He said, "It sounds a bit like Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. The sound is similar to High Flying Birds, but more psychedelic and tripped out. It's not an electronic project. People are jumping to that conclusion because Amorphous Androgynous used to be an electronic outfit."

Roxette - Speak To Me

As I promised yesterday, I'll begin taking back some of what happened earlier this week and end on the last, first out will be the rehearsal week that Roxette stood for, in a bare premises here in Stockholm, built up their newdesign tour. Roxette has come about halfway on their world tour and new dates are filled in, so then required a new design. In my eyes it became actually really good, but I was a little sloppy with taking pictures and have unfortunately not so much to offer but a little you should get. The lighting setup is kinda cool and around the stage has been built up with black and red drapes that create a true feeling of home, a large light wall is part of the show, of course.

Roxette are a Swedish pop music duo, consisting of Marie Fredriksson (vocals) and Per Gessle (vocals and guitar). Formed in 1986, the duo became an international act from the late 1980s, when they released their breakthrough album Look Sharp!. Roxette went onto achieve nineteen UK Top 40 hits and several US Hot 100 hits, including four US number-ones with "The Look", "Listen to Your Heart", "It Must Have Been Love", and "Joyride". Other hits included "Dangerous" and "Fading Like a Flower" and "Dressed for Success".

Florence + The Machine - What The Water Gave Me

When Florence and the Machine entered the music scene a few years ago, it seems that everyone has fallen in love with the charm and impeccable talent Florence Welch and her debut album "lungs". Me who basically is a so-called rocker fell for her charm, her voice, her hippie style. So it was fun to hear something new from this lady, the song has been spinning for a while but it's time to share, maybe there is someone else who likes it:)

What is surprising is how damn good "What The Water Gave Me" is. The thoughts roll back to the early Cure and Siouxsie and the Banshees when I hear this song. Sneaking in gently and it grows along the way and last minute reaches the climax and that's she goes for it full Pelt.

The new album, which is yet to be titled, will be released on 31 October 2011.

Todays tune "What The Water Gave Me" is the first taste from the upcoming album.

Veronica Maggio - Jag kommer

Veronica Maggio, after two albums, half a dozen singles and consistently touring bribed into their own place in the Scandinavian music map. With soul-colored pop songs with Swedish lyrics she successfully managed the legacy of urban pop pioneers like Mauro Scocco and Orup.

Right now, Veronica on tour and doing this weekend two gigs at Circus here in Stockholm. Two sold-out houses are not bad peed from this lady.

The first night was yesterday and floated on as expected with a good power in the audience. The light show was really good and their light technician did a great job to get to a really nice feeling but on the other hand it gave me major trouble hitting the right spot, I ran the follow spot on Veronica and it was not the easiest when I was dazzled by the massive lightingcast. Petter was a guest at the encore, which gave a further boost for Veronica. Christian Walz mingling before the gig and witnessed the concert seated.

Tonight will be day two of the Circus and it will be interesting to see if there are any changes in layout, setlist, and perhaps even a new guest artist, heard that Petter apparently could not attend tonight's see what happens with that.

Todays tune "Jag kommer" is taken from her latest release "Satan I Gatan" .The new album was written and produced together with Christian Walz and also Markus Krunegård involved as a songwriter on the album. The album has grown up in Christian Walz studio in Östermalm in Stockholm. In fifteen overcrowded square feet - over cluttered of pianos, organs, and effect boxes - have Veronica and Christian for about a year written and recorded eleven new songs. They include, among other things, cracked love, lost friendships and the feeling when you leave the club and walk home at night with new friends.

Prince - Darling Nikki

Yesterday, Prince playd for us all at Way Out West and WOW he can Entertain!!

Between 1993 and 2000 he was known under the unpronounceable symbol. During that period he was frequently referred to in the media as "The Artist Formerly Known as Prince", often abbreviated to "TAFKAP", "AFKAP" or simply "The Artist". But now its only Prince.

His most known tune is Purple Rain and this time it was like a 13 minutes long orgasm. Prince also sang "Nothing Compares With U" (that he wrote for "The Family" and then gave to Sinead O´Connor) and when Prince starts "I would die for you" Kanye West showed up and sang a bit, one nearly didnt see him cos´of all the chick Prince took up on the stage to dance.

Did u guys know he is 53 years old and is 158 cm tall, (approx 5,1 feets) that he have done 35 albums between 1978-2010.
