Good Morning! On #6 I have choosed 2 of my friends band, Hong Faux! Stones and I were on their release party on their album "The Crown That Wears The Head" at Marie Laveau the very same day as Rival Sons (My #7) had a gig at Strand.
Hong Faux is a great rock band also with blues in their music. Their lyrics is outstanding, listen to it.
Ladys And Gents, here is Hong Faux!
Cheers, Thetania

Since we can not quite agree on a common list for this year's top 10 albums, it will be a list from each one of us on the same day, one list position in the morning and same in the evening, it will generate a lot of music here at the Tune Of The Day during these days. This year's list has been really difficult to tie together, started with a Top 50 and was sift hard, ended up that I had to go on the most listening records and many that in the beginning was obvious was removed. Right or wrong, judge youreselfs, hard as hell, I must say.
We start by presenting the positions outside the Top 10 that I, Stones have, that is 11-20 just like last year.
Today I pick a song from an album that has grown a lot recently, but unfortunately it has got too little playing time in order to stretch higher and pinch a position in the Top 10. This band is actually quite new to me (Thanks Tom for the tip), Ive heard the name mentioned a lot over the years, but I have to admit, didnt really find out more about them, it has just passed me. This record is actually really good and I recommended this highly.
Amebix are an English crust punk/heavy metal band. Formed as "The Band with No Name," Amebix's original run was from 1978 to 1987, during which time they released three EPs and two full-length LPs. The group has reunited as of 2008.
By being one of the first bands to blend anarcho-punk and heavy metal music, Amebix are often cited as one of the key bands that helped to create the crust punk style. Such notable bands as Sepultura, Neurosis and Deviated Instinct have paid homage to the band.
Todays tune "Knights of the Black Sun " is the first single from the latest release "Sonic Mass", released in 2011
Last Thursday, there were music all the way. First release party with Hong Faux, which I talked about yesterday, great to hear them play the new songs live. Unfortunately I did not have the time to stay for the entire gig, was so much in a hurry to Strand to witness the Rival Sons Live, which was something I had really been looking forward to.
On the way there with two buddies, Jojje and Petri (Supralunar), we passed the car to lay off the new Hong Faux vinyl and the new t-shirt that was purchased during the release party, vinyl was however a gift from Björn, in the band as a thank you for the photos in the record inlay, funny as hell that they wanted to use them for the record.. Once we got to the car so I noticed a yellow note on car window ... yikes!
Represses the yellow note and gears up for gig instead, once I entered the Strand, Jeff and The Brotherhood's was playing the last song, time to snap a few pictures, but didn't not have the time really to form an idea of how it was. Before Jeff was playing there was a Swedish band called them self as "Flykten" would have been fun to hear live, will try to watch them some other time, the litte Ive heard, it sounds very interesting.
Then it was time for the main act to get on and the curtain was opened, a wonderful feeling runned through the body, this will be so good. Certain it was so, awsome how good the gig became, what a retroactive feeling, holy moses. We know already that the band is great on record, but they are awsome great live, what emotions they could create, its incredible. The singer sings with incredible feeling and his vocal work is magnificent. Even musicians are tight and well played, the contact between each other is clear as a bell, which can be seen when the jam sessions takes place and when they joke with each other. This was simply a awsome gig even though I missed some songs which I would have liked that were on the set list, as "Face of light" which is one of the best track on the Pressure of Time. But received in other hand "Soul", this song is taken from the EP, which was performed in a completely magical way and it felt like I was going to heaven, shit what I shivered. After the gig the band invited up to hang around and drink some beer and talk about this, which we of course did.
Here is some pictures from the show!
More pictures will be added later on the facebook!
Todays tune "Soul" is taken from their selftitled ep.
Rivals Sons - 'Soul' Live At The Bob Bauer Studio Detroit
Last week I attended a release party at Marie Laveau in Stockholm, Hong Faux and of the long awaited debut full length on vinyl , a very nice meeting, one almost as a buddy meeting. I went there with two good friends and Thetania. Unfortunately this collided a bit with our plans, Thetania worked at Debaser, as you could read about yesterday. And I actually had a ticket to Rival Sons, more about that tomorrow. Too bad, had actually wanted to stay all night, drink a beer or two and talk.
Their gig was really good, but missed the last songs as I had to rush to the other place, What I could hear was excellent, would like to see them soon again. It is a bit sad that the place have no light, it is horrible, really bad for a live band and even worse for a photographer, it is almost impossible to get good pictures, so you have to make do with them few that in fact possible to watch.
Anyway, now I have their album "The Crown That Wears The Head" and can say to that this record swining like hell, What a record, see if I throw up a review on WeRock in the future, depends a little how much time i have, been kinda busy latley.
Hong Faux actually did two release parties for this album, the first went off in Umeå the day before.
For those of you who can’t make it to these shows, the album will be available through our web shop as long as the few copies last. Buy it here!
Here is a some pictures:
Today's song "Blade", is taken from their EP, is not included on the new record, which in turn makes it a little exclusive.
Found a video from the day before which becomes a little bonus! Hong Faux live at Scharinska Umeå Sweden playing Bad City Blues

Here is the first taste of the upcoming debut album "The Crown that Wears the Head" with Hong Faux.
The new single “Feign Death to Stay Alive” will be released on October 25, but already today you can see the music video for it here on Tune Of The Day. The song is a really driven thing with really nice messy melody, song hooks after a few laps, expressed clearly and committed, the lyric is well composed and very ingenious, just take these lines "TV bleeding like a whore, hungry leaches screams for more" I have in principle, humming on this all day, really looking forward to the album.
The recordings of the new album has been down on tape, the real old school tape recording. The new record will contain around seven (maybe eight) tracks. Release date will be in early November. The album will be released on Vinyl and in all the digital stores. The pre-orders for the Vinyl starts on Friday, October 21. I will of course pre-order a Vinyl and i hope you will.
Album Artwork
The artwork for the single and album is designed by Mathew Bethncourt.
They also have a plan is to release album no 2 within 9 months or so. Some of the songs from these sessions might show up on the next full length, and a track or two will probably end up on a special tour edition 7″.

Nutmeg is a band from Sweden. They was formed 2000 in Örnsköldsvik. In 2006 Johan Bergqvist joined the roster on guitar. The band has toured throughout Sweden over the years, including prestigious gigs at Emmaboda Festival, the Rookie Festival in Hultsfred and Trästocksfestivalen. Their debut album "The Trigger" was released in 2009 on the indie label Iconic Noise, and was rewarded 5/5 in Sweden's largest music magazine "Groove", which earned it a placed in the "Top 10 albums released 2009”. The second album is under production and will be released later this year.
Nutmeg is out on a mini tour with Hong Faux (A band that has recently been on Tune Of The Day). On Wednesday (earlier this week), they visited the Lilla Hotellbaren, Scandic Malmen here in Stockholm, first out was the Stockholm band Hong Faux who did a really awesome gig, was in my mind a bit tighter than last time, the band did pretty much everything on stage and went into the role of rock stars and offered a plate of fantastic rock with a wonderful groove. Waiting for full length album with excitement.
Nutmeg got on half hour after Hong Faux, Nutmeg, this is a band that is a new acquaintance of mine, so I stood there and waited for them to get up. Johan Bergqvist is bassist in Hong Faux had made a quick change of clothes to take on the guitar for Nutmeg.
The band kicked off with an interesting mix of rock, pop and hardcore, I must say that it was actually really good, nice groove and the live vocalist Henke gave everything and reminded at times of Iggy Pop on stage.
Here are some pictures from the evening, starting out a bit with Hong Faux and then Nutmeg.
